The Kaufman County Library is closely monitoring information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and has developed a plan based on the recommendations of county officials, the county health official and the Kaufman County Emergency Management Center to ensure every precaution is taken to keep customers and staff healthy and safe. The library is open and available to answer your calls and emails from 10 am – 6 pm, Monday, Tuesday , Thursday; 10 am – 5 pm Wednesday; 10 am – 4 pm, Friday.
Currently, the library is open with modified hours and limited services. There are a limited number of computers available for one hour per user each day. Staff are available to help you with your copying, faxing, and scanning needs. All in person programs have been postponed until further notice to ensure the health and safety of all our staff and visitors. We encourage visitors to take advantage of our curbside service available Monday- Friday, 10 am – 5 pm.
Please note that the Library is unable to comprehensively sanitize every single item (books, magazines, newspapers, movies, etc.), and as such, customers are advised to wash their hands after handling materials and avoid touching their faces. That said, the World Health Organization has reported that there is conflicting evidence of how long the virus may persist on surfaces, especially under varying conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.).
If you are unable to visit the library in person, please note that our digital services are always available! Access eBooks, eAudiobooks, and stream movies; use our online resources from the comfort of your home with your Library Card. For assistance using any of these services, please call the library.
